New ask Hacker News story: Ask HN: Popular Alternative to Urban Dictionary?

Ask HN: Popular Alternative to Urban Dictionary?

I recently came upon an unfamiliar slang word and, as I have often successfully done before, went on Urban Dictionary to find its 'dirty' definition but what I encountered made little sense in the negative context and read as though it was professionally defined. Surprised, I investigated and learned that Urban Dictionary is implementing a new initiative to reduce hate speech and as such is watering down definitions [1]. So now I'm wondering: is anyone familiar with an alternative resource that contains the 'dirty' slang that Urban Dictionary used to provide? All of the resources I've found so far don't come close to its coverage. [1] https://ift.tt/2BR1Z6Z

Ask HN: Lots of front end experience but no portfolio

I do high performance front end work, but there's no public access to my best projects, and my work from years ago is absolutely terrible. I haven't been in job-search mode in years but I'm fairly certain people are going to want to see a good portfolio. Not sure where to go from here.

New Show Hacker News story: Show HN: AI Generated Short Video

Show HN: AI Generated Short Video

Hey everyone, I have always wanted to content. I enjoy creating videos and watching other's creations! Being a programmer, I decided to create an AI pipeline which can create textual scripts and churn out thousands of videos / blogs on a daily basis given any topic. This is my first video and I would appreciate any comments and suggestions regarding it but I am particularly interested in hearing about tips and tricks / content format which can be followed to make the such video more fun and intuitive to watch. Also looking for advice if this can be monetised maybe saas or ads or something completely different. I would also want to know if anyone of you would be interested in such an AI tool. The Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1J_DOIPGKsw Specifically, what I wanted to ask: What are the specific things you liked and what you didn't. Would there have been a better format for me to have made this video to deliver the message more effectively? Are there any concepts things I can look up that may help me improve my videos generation. Thank you again!
